Burzenski & Company, P.C. Announces Three Promotions

Jeffrey W. Bliss, CPA was a named a Partner at Burzenski & Company in July 2022. He is currently the Director of Veterinary Services at the firm. He joined Burzenski & Company in 2005 as a Staff Accountant. Over the years, he moved up the ranks to Senior Staff Accountant, Supervisor Accounting Specialist, Manager in 2016, and was named Director in 2017. Jeff graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern Connecticut State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He also earned a Master's Degree in Accounting from Quinnipiac University. Jeff is the Treasurer of the Wallingford Land Trust and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of CPAs.

Shelly A. Panico, CPA was recently promoted to Tax Manager at Burzenski & Company. She joined the firm in 2018. She specializes in advising individuals and closely held businesses. She has more than 25 years of experience in the tax area; specifically high net worth individuals, small businesses, tax matters resolution, and real estate partnerships. Her tax and accounting experience enables her to provide outstanding service to her client and advise her clients on tax planning and compliance. She enjoys building and maintaining client relationships through client contact at all levels or organization, from owners to senior executives to staff positions. She is a graduate of Quinnipiac University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Shelly is a member of the AICPA and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants. When not working, she enjoys reading, working out, and volunteering.

Brian Desmond Faynor, CPA, has been promoted from Senior Accountant to Supervisor at Burzenski & Company, PC.  He has extensive firm experience in public accounting including tax, audit, accounting and business valuation. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Senior Tax Associate with Reynolds & Rowella, LLP in Ridgefield and a Senior Accountant at Knight Rolleri Sheppard, CPAS, LLP in Fairfield. Brian earned a BBA degree in Finance with a minor in Accounting, Cum Laude, from Western Connecticut State University.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Connecticut Society of CPAs, and National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. He lives in Fairfield with his wife Nicole, three-year--old daughter, Lucy and six-month-old daughter, Lily.  In his spare time, he enjoys watching sports (primarily football and is a loyal NY Giants fan). Additionally, he enjoys reading, playing guitar, and traveling.
