This class is a combination of the AICPA’s annual peer review update with additional discussions of topics including the 2023 Department of Labor Audit Quality Study, proposed changes to Peer Review standards under PRSU No. 2, and additional trending topics on the Peer Review horizon.

Leader Bios

Jaime Beasley, Manager, Peer Review Program, AICPA

Jaime is a manager with the AICPA’s Peer Review Program and primarily focuses on education and communication, including the development of guidance and training materials for administrative personnel, technical reviewers, peer reviewers and committee members. Jaime also serves as a technical reviewer for the National Peer Review Committee. Prior to working with the AICPA, Jaime was a manager in PwC’s Assurance Services practice, functioning mainly in the Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences industry. Jaime currently serves as Chair of the NCACPA’s Student Outreach, Advancement and Recruitment (SOAR) Committee. She is a CPA licensed to practice in North Carolina and a member of the AICPA, NCACPA and the North Carolina State University MAC Alumni Board of Directors. Jaime holds a BS in Accounting and Masters of Accounting from North Carolina State University.

Michael Brand

Michael Brand, CPA Johnson, Feigley, Newton & Brand LLP / Athens, AL

Michael Brand is a partner of Johnson, Feigley, Newton & Brand LLP in Athens, Alabama. He was formerly a partner with Tucker, Scott, Brand & Wates, LLC. Michael is a graduate of the University of North Alabama and has been in public accounting since graduation.

Michael has been involved in various aspects of public accounting with an emphasis in accounting and auditing services. His experience involves audits of various for profit, not-for-profit and governmental entities. Additionally, he conducts peer reviews. He currently serves on the Alabama Society of CPA's Peer Review Committee and serves on the AICPA's Joint Trial Board, Quality Control Standards Task Force and was a prior member of the AICPA's Peer Review Board.
