Animal Rescue Seeking Professionals for Volunteer Opportunities

Our Companions Animal Rescue is a Connecticut-based non-profit animal welfare organization that promises to always do the right thing for animals.

Best known for its peaceful, home-like Sanctuary on 47 acres in Ashford, CT, Our Companions provides a unique resource for the most vulnerable pets in our community.

Under the loving care of the staff and our team of volunteers, the animals at the Sanctuary receive the specialized physical, behavioral and emotional rehabilitation needed to heal from past trauma and prepare to be adopted into new loving homes.

Additionally, Our Companions also provides critical services, many of which are aimed at helping people and pets stay together, at its Valerie Friedman Program Center in Manchester, CT. These pet retention programs include:

• An Animal Helpline that responds to over 4,000 calls a year from people throughout CT and beyond, seeking assistance with their pet-related challenges.
• Canine and feline behavioral consultation and training
• Accessible and affordable veterinary care for pet owners facing financial hardship.
• Services for feral and community cats.
• Support services for senior citizens and their pets.
