Noank Community Support Services, Inc. (NCSS) – Volunteer CPA Financial Consultant

We are looking for a CPA to help us with reviews of our quarterly financial reports to the board, which are prepared by the Financial Director.  We need some help with an outside review of our budget status to date, and be available for any questions about financial projections so that we can make decisions on the ability to add positions or programs based on projections. We use QuickBooks web based.

Approximate Time Commitment: Once a month or quarter for about an hour.  All our meetings are being held virtually.

Background/Description of Organization: NCSS is a non-profit with 49 years history of serving young adults in the SE CT (Noank, Groton, Mystic, New London, Norwich and Ledyard) region.  We currently have two group homes for adolescent girls who have struggled in foster care, a shelter for homeless 18-24 year olds, and a shelter for refugees’ children.  We also serve adults with chronic mental illness in the community in their homes and offer a program for 18-24 year olds transitioning from foster care to college and employment.  Our funding is a mix of Federal and State grants and some fee for service.
