Connecticut Society of CPAs Makes Leadership Staffing Changes

(Rocky Hill, CT) – After leading membership recruitment and retention for the last three years, Cindy Panioto of Canton has been promoted to the Director of Operations & Advocacy at the Connecticut Society of CPAs (CTCPA) in Rocky Hill.

In her new role, Panioto will focus on the overall operations of the 6,000+ member organization through technology enhancements and organizational evolution, as well as contributing to advocacy for the profession across Connecticut.

Panioto joined CTCPA in 2018 as its Membership & Business Development Director, after serving for 27 years as the Conference & Events Manager at the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA). In her role at CTCPA, Panioto was instrumental in enriching member benefits, as well as evolving the membership. She is currently the past president of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and served for more than two decades with the United States Army Reserve.

Jennifer Cooley-Brewer of New Milford has joined CTCPA as its new Membership & Business Development Director. Cooley-Brewer has a wealth of experience developing and executing strategic plans for companies and non-profit organizations. With a solid marketing background, she is eager to help grow the CTCPA membership across every business and non-profit in the state with an accounting or financial management team.

Cooley-Brewer spent the last seven years as a marketing consultant taking on projects for small businesses and non-profits to grow their client base, organic traffic, engagement, and sponsorships. She had the opportunity to develop an academic achievement curriculum, including diversity, equity, and inclusion education, at Yale University's School of Medicine to help students navigate their career paths. She also worked at Memry Corporation as an Account Representative, Goodwill Industries of Connecticut as the Career Center Coordinator, and at the Devereux Glenholme School as part of the residential school's faculty. Her career began as a Development Associate for the American Cancer Society.

With a membership of more than 6,000 in public practice, business and industry, government, and education, the CTCPA's mission is to advocate on behalf of the accounting profession, foster a professional community among CPAs, and provide professional development opportunities for CPAs in Connecticut.
