Overview

In this month’s Town Hall Meeting, we’ve convened experts from three organizations to share breaking developments impacting CPAs right now.

• USPS New Postmark Regulations: A U.S. Postal Service representative will explain the agency’s new postmark-handling policy (effective December 24, 2025), address common misconceptions, and outline best practices for meeting critical filing deadlines.
• DRS Filing Season Update: DRS Commissioner Mark Boughton or Deputy Commissioner John Biello will share a practical update on DRS operational readiness for the filing season, covering approved software forms and any outstanding system issues to get practitioners ready for tax season.
• AICPA National Advocacy Update: AICPA Executive Vice President - Advocacy Mark Peterson will give us the latest information on the Department of Education and the status of accounting as a profession.
