Whittlesey Partners with Local Nonprofits Across Connecticut and Western Massachusetts for Annual Community Day

June 25, 2025

This spring more than 90 Whittlesey team members came together across Connecticut and Western Massachusetts to take part in the firm’s 15th Annual Community Day, an event dedicated to service and giving back.

Each year, employees put aside their day-to-day responsibilities to volunteer with local nonprofit organizations, demonstrating Whittlesey’s deep and ongoing commitment to the communities where they live and work. What began as a single day of service has grown into a legacy of hands-on impact, whether through planting pollinator gardens, organizing donation drives, or supporting educational and environmental initiatives.

This year’s Community Day brought meaningful contributions to several mission-driven organizations across the region:

  • Hartford, CT – Volunteers worked with the Bushnell Park Foundation to assist with beautification efforts at Bushnell Park, the nation’s oldest publicly funded park. The park serves more than a million visitors annually and is a beloved space for city residents, professionals, families, and eventgoers alike.
  • North Haven, CT— Volunteers partnered with the Diaper Bank of Connecticut to package and donate essential supplies. The Diaper Bank provides diapers for infants and toddlers, based on the belief that no one should have to go without these necessities.
  • Springfield, MA – A team supported the Zoo in Forest Park and Education Center by painting fences, cleaning the grounds, and constructing wooden display boxes. The Zoo plays a vital role in the region’s educational and cultural landscape, caring for non-releasable animals and promoting conservation and rehabilitation efforts since the late 1800s.

“As community members for over 60 years, we care deeply about our neighbors and the environment where we live and work,” said Drew Andrews, CEO and Managing Partner at Whittlesey. “Our commitment to service is woven into the fabric of our firm. Partnering with nonprofit organizations across the region is always a privilege, and I’m proud of the positive impact our team continues to make by coming together to give back.”
