November 17, 2025
CTCPA members Gene Turley, CPA, MS of CPA Consulting Services in Manchester and Marie Kulesza, Professor and Accounting Department Chair at Central Connecticut State University, joined University of Connecticut Assistant Professor of Accounting Tara Vakil for a career exploration panel at Manchester High School.
The event, organized by Beth Hayes, gave about 30 students (mostly sophomores and accounting class participants) a chance to hear firsthand about career paths in accounting and the skills that lead to success.
Gene shared insights from his work in private and public accounting and emphasized how the profession offers opportunities to make a meaningful difference for individuals and businesses.
“It’s rewarding to show students that accounting goes far beyond numbers — it’s about solving problems and helping people succeed,” Turley said.
