Jacob W. Buttiker, JD
Jacob Buttiker represents businesses, nonprofit organizations, and other entities on transactional, corporate and regulatory matters. He has a particular focus on advising clients on technology and intellectual property licensing and state and federal regulatory data privacy and security matters, including compliance with data privacy laws, drafting data protection agreements, and assisting in data breach response. He is certified as an Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Prior to joining Day Pitney, Jacob interned for the State of Connecticut, Office of the Attorney General in the Privacy Division. He also served as a Legal Extern for Beiersdorf and a Privacy Intern at Sony and Yale University.

As the firm’s Chief Innovation Officer, Michael is tasked with helping clients drive for excellence and ingenuity in an ever-changing world. Michael also leads blum’s technology consulting group, where he consults with a range of businesses and industries on issues related to technology strategy and direction, enterprise and solution architecture, service-oriented architecture and solution delivery.
Michael’s experience includes the definition of technology blueprints and roadmaps, platform advisory, architecture design and assessments, process guidance and full lifecycle application development across a variety of industries with particular strengths in insurance, financial services, high technology and professional services.
Michael currently holds Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Solution Framework Endorsed Practitioner and Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications.
Prior to joining blum in 2006, Michael spent many years leading consulting engagements for Microsoft Gold Certified Partners providing expertise across both current and legacy technology. He was the strategic architect at Aetna, one of the nation’s largest health insurers, responsible for evaluating technology solutions and developing strategies for implementation. Michael also serves as the partner-in-charge of Internal Technology for blum.
