Instructor Biography

Susan J. Hannigan, CPA

As a consultant to community financial institutions, Susan provides guidance and strategies around accounting and finance, risk management, internal controls and compliance. Recently, she served as a Chief Financial Officer of a Credit Union with assets of $1.4 billion where she was responsible for the oversight of finance and accounting, risk management, compliance and corporate security.? She provided organizational leadership and formulated corporate strategies and policies. With over thirty years’ experience at Wolf & Company, P.C., a regional public accounting firm in Boston, Massachusetts, Susan often mentored early in career CPAs.? At Wolf, she worked in the assurance services group with a concentration in financial institutions providing audit and consulting services. Ms. Hannigan serves as a Transition Resource Group (TRG) member for FASB’s CECL project and is a current member of the AICPA Deposit Institution Expert Panel. She is a graduate of Stonehill College with a BS in Business Administration. She is a member of the AICPA and Massachusetts Society of CPAs. Ms. Hannigan serves as President of the FMS Boston Chapter, and on the boards of the Merrimack Valley Food Bank, and the Hanover Permanent Scholarship Fund. While Southeastern Massachusetts is her home, Susan is on a mission to visit all of our National Parks. In her free time, you'll find her walking the beach at sunrise or visiting with her two daughters.
