Overview

With the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic the financial reporting considerations are numerous.  Practitioners need to consider all possible areas of impact when preparing financials, assisting clients with reporting or understanding the areas of impact when conducting the audit of the impacted financials.  This course will cover the GAAP financial reporting impacts and consequences of the coronavirus pandemic. It will look at SEC reporting and disclosure requirements, financial reporting guidance potentially impacted and review FASB deferrals of effective dates due to the pandemic.

BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF JOHN FLEMING, CPA, MBA (Licensed as a CPA in Pennsylvania)

John M. Fleming, CPA, MBA, is the Director of Accounting and Auditing for LOSCALZO ASSOCIATES LTD. John has been associated with LOSCALZO ASSOCIATES for eighteen years and has conducted roughly 2,000 continuing professional education programs during that time. John is responsible for developing, technically reviewing and delivering accounting and auditing CPE programs for CPA societies, professional associations, accounting firms, and corporate accounting groups.

John’s prior practice experience includes audit, tax, consulting, office management, and human resource responsibilities with Deloitte & Touche LLP, Richard Eisner & Company LLP, and Ernst & Young LLP as well as consulting assignments with numerous regional accounting firms throughout the country. John is a graduate of LaSalle and Drexel Universities with degrees in accounting and finance.

John, a Pennsylvania CPA, served as the 1999/2000 President of the 8,300 member Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and currently serves as a member of the Institute’s Accounting and Auditing Technical Committee as well as a co-chair of the Chapter’s International Accounting Standards Committee. John has also served as the 2002/2003 President of the American Accounting Association’s Mid-Atlantic Region. In 2006, the Philadelphia Chapter of the PICPA recognized John as a Joseph E. Sterrett Fellow for his contributions to the accounting profession.

John has received Outstanding Discussion Leader recognition from the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana Society of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, John is the recipient of the Outstanding Teaching and Service Award from Drexel University and the Outstanding Accounting Alumni Award from LaSalle University.
