After a successful launch this year, we’re investing in technology to greatly expand your ability to participate in committee meetings, group discussions, and professional development programs virtually from wherever you are.

  Fighting for the profession at the State Capitol.
We were more active than ever in Hartford this year:
  • Leading the opposition against a sales tax on tax preparation and accounting services provided to individuals.
  • Successfully stopping a proposed increase to the Connecticut CPA license fee.
  • Working with the DRS to address the unintended issues related to Public Act 18-49, the new state law that attempted to mitigate the effects of federal tax reform on state and local tax deductions for Connecticut taxpayers.

Revamping member groups to offer meaningful collaboration and education.
In the past year we have shaken up operations of many of our committees, expanding opportunities to engage in peer-to-peer discussions with colleagues, get connected with experts and regulators, and join groups for specific geographic areas, industry specializations, and demographics.

Bringing CTCPA to your backyard with regional and chapter meetings.
We hit the road with our popular Regional Professional Updates, which each provide a brief CTCPA, regulatory, standards boards, and legislative update followed by interactive discussion. We also launched our successful Southeastern and Fairfield County Chapters, with New Haven and Hartford area groups coming this year.

Launching the CTCPA Connect online community.
Members told us they want to leverage technology to connect with fellow members from wherever they are. Enter CTCPA Connect: a private online community exclusively for members to ask questions, share resources, and stay connected. We launched Connect with several pilot groups and now we’re opening participation to the full membership.
