Mark Zampino

Mark Zampino Public Affairs Director Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants Mark Zampino is currently in his 30th year as public affairs director of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants (CTCPA). As such, he is responsible for overseeing the CPA society's internal and external communications and also works closely with the executive director in the association's governmental affairs. Mark also serves as an instructor for the CTCPA's continuing education department on topics such as business communication and public speaking. Mark is a graduate, summa cum laude, of the University of Hartford, where he garnered the English Department's "Senior Writing Award" and academic scholarships and today is in his 12th year as a popular adjunct professor of business communication. Mark is also a member of both the Accounting and Business Administration Advisory Board of Manchester Community College and the Malcolm Baldrige School of Business Accounting Advisory Board at Post University. Mark is a past president of the Connecticut Valley Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) where the group recognized him with its 2001 Distinguished Chapter Service Award. His work and professional leadership have been recognized by a variety of organizations including PRSA, the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), and the National Advertising Agency Network (NAAN). On a lighter note, Mark plays keyboards, guitars, and sings, and founded "The Accounting Crows," Connecticut's only CPA rock band. The group has performed from San Diego to Boston, and from Phoenix to Tampa, and has been featured prominently in mass media such as The Wall Street Journal, U.S. News & World Report and even CBS Television's "Eye on America" In 2003, the CTCPA recognized the band with its “Annual Service Award “ for its positive work as musical ambassadors of the accounting profession. Mark and his wife Donna have two grown sons, Geoffrey and Daniel, a Shetland Sheepdog named Jetta, and reside in Cromwell.
