August brings to every engagement more than 25 years of hands on experience. He has worked at a Big 4 firm (Coopers & Lybrand) now Pricewaterhouse Coopers); a partner at a top 100 US accounting firm, a partner at a national consulting firm specializing in the accounting market; and a senior executive at American Express Tax & Business Services, Inc. From 2002 he has consulted full time to accounting firms in the US, Canada and England. Accounting Today has described August Aquila as one of the profession’s key strategic thinkers. The AICPA has written, “August J. Aquila is one of the country’s leading consultants and authorities in the areas of profit improvement, new business development, strategic marketing planning, and management issues for CPA firms.” In 2004, 2007, 2009 to 2011 he was selected as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in The Accounting Profession by Accounting Today. In 2003 August was inducted into the Accounting Marketing Association Hall of Fame. He won the Lawler Award for the best Journal of Accountancy article (“How to Lose Clients without Really Trying”) in 1994.
