Managing Health Care Expenses in Retirement: What You and Your Clients Need to Know About Medicare and Long-Term Care

With the Medicare open enrollment period upon us (October 15 – December 7th), questions about coverage will be on the minds of many of your aging clients. Medicare is an extremely important part of your client’s health care plan, however, it is important to note that it does not cover long-term care. With an aging population comes a higher incidence of people needing long-term care. This leaves many of your clients searching for answers and a better understanding of these two important topics and how to plan for the cost of care as they age.

After attending this workshop, you will have a sound understanding of Medicare and long-term care and will be able to address common questions about these topics.

Topics to be discussed will include;

Medicare:
- It’s various parts, coverage and costs
- The enrollment process
- Important deadlines and possible penalties
- Special enrollment periods
- Future costs of health care

Long-Term Care:
- How is long-term care defined?
- Levels of care
- Costs of care
- Ways to help clients plan for care
- Connecticut Medicaid Rules

Join us for an informative session. You must pre-register as seats are limited.
