IN-PERSON

You’ve asked and we’ve delivered! This new group will bring together members in business and industry and the firms that support them for peer-to-peer discussion on topics including cutting-edge technology, developments at the state Capitol, accounting standards and regulations, and other matters of interest to the state’s business community.

Although this group is designed specifically for members in business and industry, those who support them in public accounting, law, etc. are also welcome to participate. Special thanks to group chair Steve LaRosa of Alexion Pharmaceuticals and vice chair Jen Whalley of Amphenol Corporation.

Join us at our first meeting!

We’re trilled to welcome Connecticut Commission on Fiscal Stability and Economic Growth Vice Chair Pat Widlitz, who will update us on the Commission’s work. Pat is a former state representative (98th Assembly District, Guilford and Branford) and former co-chair of the House Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee.

The Commission has assembled some of the state’s top business leaders to study and recommend ways to improve the state’s fiscal stability and promote economic growth and competitiveness, including a goal of creating balanced state budgets in the future. Their specific areas for focus include revenues, tax structures, spending, debt, administrative and organizational actions, and related state and municipal activities.

Pat will discuss the Commission’s findings and recommendations for materially improving the state for existing and future businesses and residents, which must be submitted to Governor Malloy and the legislature by March 1. The Commission expects much of its work to be done in time for our meeting, giving us a timely first-hand look at what’s to come.
