MostofusjoinedtheCTCPArightoff
the bat because we believed it was
simplytherightthingtodo.Thenewer
generations­GenerationXandGen-
eration Y ­ prefer to experience and
engage before they commit. So we
have to change, and invite them to
joinustogivethemtheopportunityto
knowandexperiencethevaluethatwe
alreadyembrace.
EachandeverymemberoftheCTCPA
isakeyplayerinthisprocess.
Put simply, we need our members to
voteinordertomaketheseimportant
changes.
For a bylaws proposal to even be
considered,atleast10percentofour
members must vote. Therefore we
urgeyoutonotonlyvoteyourself,but
toalso"getthevoteout"inyourfirms
and organizations and from among
yourfellowmembers.
Inorderfortheseproposalstopass,at
least two-thirds of those casting bal-
lotsmustvoteinfavor.
As your president and a fellow mem-
ber, I ask you to consider the impor-
tance of these proposals and to vote
INFAVORofthesechanges.Theyare
criticaltothefutureoftheCTCPA,how
it functions, and its growth but most
importantly, its ability to continue to
meet the needs of its members and
ourprofessionasawhole.
