ing deadline day Tuesday, April 17
duringtheband'straditionalend-of-tax-
season bash at Murphy and Scarletti's
Restaurant in Farmington. The band
donated its fee for that evening's per-
formance to the Southington YMCA's
CampSloper.
The venue was also the site of Blum-
Shapiro'send-of-tax-seasonparty,and
many of the BlumShapiro staff joined
theCrowsforsomeonstagefun.
"Our tax deadline charity gig at Mur-
phy&Scarletti'sisastraditionalasthe
post office staying open until midnight
thatday,"explainedCrowsleadguitarist
Alan Friedman, "and this year marked
our14
th
anniversaryoftheevent.We've
donatedourperformancefeeeveryyear
toadeservingcharity,andthisbringsour
runningtotalto$7,000,"Friedmansaid.
