Instructor Biography

Cynthia Pugliese

Cynthia Pugliese has been in healthcare for over twenty years, spending the majority of it in large, urban acute care hospitals. She has held leadership positions in Health Information Management, Privacy and Quality Management. Cynthia earned a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Bridgeport in Health Information Management and a Master’s of Science degree from Central Connecticut State University in Organizational Communications. Cynthia holds a Register Health Information Administrator (RHIA) credential from the American Health Information Management Association, is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) from the National Association for Healthcare Quality, and a Certified Project Manager through Project Management Institute. She is currently the Director of Health Information Management for Hartford Healthcare where her responsibilities include; HIM integration for facility and professional coding, charge master maintenance, clinical documentation improvement and HIM operations. In addition she is the program executive for the system’s 5010/ICD-10 program.
